Notice: USA Patriot Act and Bank Secrecy Act

Updated this week

To help the government fight the funding of terrorism and money laundering activities, U.S. federal law requires all financial institutions to obtain, verify, and record information that identifies each person who opens or maintains an account.

When you open an account with Chipper Cash, we will ask for your name, address, date of birth, and other information that allows us to identify you. We may also ask to see your driver’s license or other identifying documents.

This process is required under:

  • The USA PATRIOT Act Section 326, which mandates that all financial institutions implement a Customer Identification Program (CIP).

  • The Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), which requires financial institutions to assist in detecting and preventing financial crimes, including money laundering and terrorist financing.

By using Chipper Cash, you agree to comply with our identification procedures. This includes providing any additional information or documents upon request, and acknowledging that failure to do so may result in account restrictions or closure.

Chipper Cash is committed to protecting your identity and securing your financial transactions while complying with U.S. laws and regulations.
