I did not receive the OTP I need to authorise my Chipper Card transaction. What do I do?

You should get the OTP on the phone number registered to your card. Please ensure that the phone number you are expecting to receive the OTP is the same phone number that was used when you claimed your Chipper Card.

I have confirmed that I'm checking the correct phone number attached to my Chipper Card, but I still didn't get the OTP to authorise my transaction

  • Click on the RESEND OTP button multiple times. This button can be found on the OTP page.
However, please wait for a little while once you click it the first time, to allow some time for the OTP to get to you.

  • Another option is to send an SMS containing the word ALLOW to 2442. This basically turns off any DND(Do-Not-Disturb) function that may have been set up on your SIM(phone line) unknowingly. Once this is done, you should receive a prompt that DND has been deactivated on your line. Then, you can proceed to reattempt and receive the OTP.

I'm unable to get the transaction OTP because the wrong phone number is attached to my Chipper Card

To resolve this, you will be required to reach out to us so we can help change/update the phone number attached to your Chipper Card.

You will need to provide the details below so we can help you change/update the phone number attached to your Chipper Card:

  • The Phone number/email address used to register your Chipper account.

  • The Month & Year the account was created.

  • The last transaction made on the account.

  • The last 4 digits of the ID/BVN that was used to verify the account.

  • A short video of you saying only the last 4 digits of the ID/ BVN

  • The name of the device currently in use.
