Adding cash to your Chipper Cash account is really simple. Here's how to go about it:
Step 1: Go to your Profile page at the top-right corner of your Home tab
Step 2: Make sure the mobile money/ bank account you want to add cash from is linked to your Chipper account.
If not, please select 'Add Payment Method' to link a mobile money or bank account.
Step 3: Tap the "Add cash" button in your "Profile" tab
IF YOUR COUNTRY USES MOBILE MONEY
Step 4: Specify the amount you want to add and the linked mobile money account want to add from
Step 5: Follow the instructions you receive on your screen once you click on the 'Add' button. The instructions are different for each telecom companies. For instance, you might be prompted to input your PIN number or to generate a voucher code
IF YOUR COUNTRY USES CARDS
Step 4: Specify the amount you want to add, and if this is your first time adding cash with that card, enter your card number and its CVV code (the 3 digits found at the back of your card)
*Step 4b: If it's not the first time you're adding cash from your card, you can go ahead and complete your "Add Cash" without entering your card number and CVV code.
ALTERNATIVELY, YOU CAN ALSO FIND THE ADD CASH BUTTON BY TAPPING ON THE BALANCE ON YOUR "ACTIVITY" TAB.
Please note you will receive a security message confirming that a deposit is being initiated once you complete the "Add Cash" process.
N/B 💡: Effective October 7, 2022, the fee rebates made to Chipper accounts after “Add Cash” transactions will be discontinued until further notice for our Uganda (UGX) users.
On the other hand, payments and transfers to mobile money remain free.
