Understanding UGX Bank Deposit
UGX bank deposit is a feature that allows you to transfer money directly from your Ugandan bank account to your Chipper Cash wallet. This service provides a convenient way for Chipper Cash customers to deposit funds from their banks to their Chipper wallets.
How UGX Bank Deposit Works
Log into the Chipper Cash app.
Tap on your UGX Balance.
Tap the Add Cash button.
Select Bank Transfer as your “add cash” method.
Select the Bank Account (ABSA or Stanbic Bank) you would like to transfer to.
Read through the instructions for a successful transfer carefully.
Select Continue.
Copy the reference code.
Proceed to your Ugandan bank app to complete the transfer. Ensure to input the REFERENCE CODE as narration/description/reference/memo of the transaction.
Upload the transaction receipt from your bank app on the Chipper Cash app.
Select I have made a transfer to complete the deposit process.
Some important things to note
UGX bank deposits are free on the Chipper Cash app (no charges).
Ugandan banks may charge a transfer fee, but this charge comes from the bank—not from Chipper.
Users must always initiate their deposits to ABSA or Stanbic Bank account numbers provided on the Chipper app.
Users must always input their REFERENCE CODE from the Chipper app as narration/description/reference/memo of the bank transfer.
Users must always upload the transaction receipt on their Chipper app.
Deposits are not always instant, as processing time depends on the sending bank.
Users can make use of a mobile money agent (like a POS agent) to make their deposit to the provided bank account.
Users can also send funds from Mobile Money to the UGX bank provided.
The deposits are reviewed internally before they are credited.
