🆕 [Nigeria] What is a Chipper US-USD Card?

Get answers to frequently asked questions (FAQs) on the new Chipper US-USD card

Updated this week

The Chipper US-USD card is issued through a U.S. partner bank and has wider global acceptance. It works more consistently on international platforms and supports a broader range of merchants.

Unlike the NG-USD card, the US-USD card can be used for certain financial service transactions, where supported by the merchant. Transactions are generally smoother and less prone to declines. If you frequently make payments on international platforms or subscription services, the US-USD card typically offers a better experience.

💰 Fees:

  • Card issuance/creation fee: $5 (This fee will be debited from your Chipper USD balance)

  • Monthly maintenance fee charged by our banking partner: $1
This fee will be charged from your wallet on the 28th of every month. If your wallet does not have enough funds to cover the charge for a particular month(s), the maintenance fee for that month will be charged the next time you top up or add funds to your wallet.
