Frequently Asked Questions

Is there a fee for withdrawal or adding funds to the Chipper NGN Card?

We do not charge a fee to add or withdraw funds from your Chipper Card.

What are the Chipper NGN Card Funding, Spending, and Withdrawal Limits?

Would I be charged a fee if my Chipper NGN Card gets declined due to insufficient funds?

Yes, you will be charged a non-refundeable NGN 500 fee for each NGN card transaction that fails due to insufficient funds.

To avoid this fee, kindly ensure that your Chipper NGN Card is always sufficiently funded in advance to cover all your one-time and recurring(subscription) online payments.

Is my Chipper NGN Card directly connected to my Chipper Wallet?

No, your Chipper Card is not automatically tied to your Chipper Wallet in the same way your bank card service works! This means that your Chipper Card balance is different from your Chipper Wallet balance.

Your Chipper Card would need to be funded from your Chipper Wallet before it can be used.

On what platforms can I use my Chipper NGN Card?

You can spend the card online anywhere cards are accepted locally (within Nigeria). This includes merchants such as Bolt, Jumia, Konga, and so on.

However, please note that you can only use the card on merchant sites that fall under our approved/supported merchant categories. The list of supported and unsupported merchant categories may evolve over time. We reserve the right to modify the list to meet certain legal and regulatory obligations.

Please use your registered house address as your billing address. Also, use the postal/zip code of your registered house address.

Please fund your card first, then your default CVV (123) will change in 24 hours.

Once changed, you can use the new CVV as your security code for transactions on merchant sites.

Is the Virtual Card 3D secured?

Please note that the Chipper Cards(USD and NGN) have been programmed for 3D-secured authentication.
