The Chipper ecosystem is a community built on trust, therefore in order to continue using your Chipper account for various transactions, you will have to submit valid documentation to verify your account.

We recommend you go through this process using a strong and secure wi-fi connection to avoid interruptions. Please follow the clear, on-screen instructions at every stage. Ensure your Chipper Cash app is updated to the latest version by confirming this from Google Playstore or the App Store.


Based on the country you are located in, below are the various documents that we accept for account verification;

  • However, if NGN users want to claim a virtual card or invest in US stocks, they need to verify their account with these additional documents;

For UK account verification, you will need to submit two(2) types of documents:

  1. Proof of Identification: Any one of the documents listed below
    - UK Biometric Residence Permit
    - UK/EU Passport
    - UK Drivers License

  2. Proof of Address: Any one of the documents below
    - Court-issued documents
    - State pension book or similar
    - Local authority rent card
    - Land registry records
    - Council or other local authority tax bill (from the current tax year)
    - Evidence from a government-registered address
    - Official documentation or correspondence from the Home Office or other immigration authority
    - Gas or Electric bill (dated from the last 3 months)
    - Water Bill (dated from the last 3 months)
    - Internet or satellite television provider bill
    - Self-assessment or correspondence from HMRC or other tax authority (unless using this as proof of business)
    - High Street Bank Statement (dated within the last 3 months)
    - Letter of account opening (dated within the last 3 months)
    - Mortgage Statement issued by a reputable lender

We will review your documents within 3 working/business days after submission.

NOTE: We are unable to verify ID's not on these lists including (but not limited to) birth certificates, school or institutional IDs and ID's of other countries.
