My Chipper Card was declined on Apple. Why do I see the "Cannot Verify Payment Information" error?
This error means that the Chipper USD card is currently not accepted on Apple Pay/Apple Wallet.
What should I do next? How can I pay for Apple Music, iCloud, or Apple Store?
You need to add your Chipper USD Card to your Apple Account(not Apple Pay) on your iOS mobile device so that you can pay for Apple products such as iTunes, Apple Music, iCloud, and Apple Store. Follow the steps below to do this:
💡 For a smoother experience, please ensure the country setting of your Apple account is the country of your Chipper account (e.g., Nigeria). Also, make sure that the Apple account address matches the local address on your Chipper Card.
Confirm that your card's CVV is not 123(default). Add funds to your card so the default 123 CVV can change to a new & valid CVV code.
Ensure your card balance is well-funded. As merchant exchange rates may vary from ours whenever you try making an International purchase e.g. It is safer to have a $20 card balance for a $10 purchase so as to easily cover for any difference that may arise from the merchant's end.
Kindly proceed to your Apple Account(on your iOS device settings) and select ''Payment & Shipping''. The essence of this is to ensure that the card has been added to your Apple account. Then you may proceed to pay for any Apple service.
Ensure that your Card details, CVV, and Expiry Date are correct and inputted in the right format [month/year e.g. 01/2026]
Please ensure you enter your Card's address details correctly. Here is an example of how to fill in your address details correctly:
▶ STREET: 220 Oregun Road La, Ikeja Ng (Enter your own address)
▶ STREET: (This is optional and can be left blank)
▶ CITY/TOWN: Lagos
▶ COUNTY: Lagos
▶ POSTCODE: (This is optional and can be left blank)
▶ COUNTRY/REGION: Nigeria
▶ PHONE NUMBER: 080334455667 (Country code +234 not required)
💡Make sure you also input the correct full name (in the right format) on the card.
Please note that while Apple supports adding the Chipper USD Card to your Apple Account, they currently do not support linking a Nigerian USD virtual card to Apple Pay. However, USD virtual cards issued in the US may be linked to Apple Pay successfully.
