  • Uninstall and reinstall the app to ensure that you have the latest version installed.

  • If you are already on the latest version, sign out and then sign back in.

  • If the problem persists, please share a screenshot or screen recording of the error message you got while trying to submit your selfie.

I want to change or reset my selfie:

Unfortunately, it is not possible to reset the selfie that was shared during verification. You will need to create a new account with a different email address or phone number and verify it with your own information.

BVN VERIFICATION

Pending BVN verification

Your BVN will typically be verified within 24-48 business hours. In some cases, verification may take up to 72 hours. Please inform us if the verification process takes longer than the stated number of hours.

Rejected BVN verification

If you are receiving a rejection message, it may be due to a system error or because you initially signed up for an account incorrectly. Please provide us with the following information:

  • A short video of you saying the last 4 digits of the BVN/ID you are trying to verify for the new account.

  • The Chipper Tag or phone number/email address associated with the account you just signed up for.

Unable to verify BVN

If you are unable to verify your BVN, please try the following steps:

  • Confirm your BVN with your bank.

  • Ensure you have the latest version of the app.

  • Share a screenshot of the error message you received.

Can I use someone else's BVN, such as a family member or friend?

  • No, this is a personal account and must be verified with your own government-issued BVN. Therefore, you cannot proceed without it.

  • Your BVN will typically be verified within 24-48 business hours. In some cases, verification may be delayed by up to 72 hours due to issues we may experience. Please inform us if the verification process takes longer than the stated timeframe.


ID VERIFICATION

Your ID submission will typically be reviewed within 24-48 business hours. In some cases, we may experience issues that could result in a delay of up to 72 hours. Please inform us if the verification process takes longer than the stated number of hours.

Rejected ID verification

Please read this article for possible reasons for rejection. However, If you are confident that your document meets all the expectations, please share a screenshot of the rejection reason on your profile along with your Chipper tag so that our verification team can review it.

If you are unable to upload your document, please confirm the following:

  • Your app version: Ensure you are on the latest version.

  • Sign out and sign back in.

If the problem persists after the steps above, please share your Chipper tag and a screen recording of the experience. This will enable the team to understand and assist you.

Can I verify with an ID issued by another country?
