The Chipper ecosystem is a community built on trust, therefore, we need you to submit valid documentation to verify your account.
We recommend you go through this process using a strong and secure internet connection to avoid interruptions. Also, please ensure your Chipper app is updated to the latest version on your App Store or Play Store. Then follow the clear, on-screen instructions at every stage in the process.
To verify your account with your NIN, please follow the steps below:
Go to your Profile Tab
Scroll to the bottom of the "Profile" page and tap "Get Verified"
Tap “Verify My Account” and follow the given instructions
Enter your BVN
Enter your First Name and Last Name (Please make sure they match the names on your BVN)
Complete your video selfie. Please ensure your camera permissions are enabled so that you can take the selfie.
Kindly ensure you follow the clear, on-screen instructions to submit your selfie so we can confirm your identity matches the ID you submit. Please don’t exit the process until you get the liveness confirmation
After submitting the video selfie successfully, you will be directed to a page where you can select your preferred verification document. Then select "NIN" as your preferred document.
Please take a very clear picture of your NIN slip and proceed to the next stage.
Please confirm the photo of your ID is clear. If not, please retake the photo
Enter your 11-digit National Identification Number and select "Complete"
Once done, please Tap "Complete"
We will review your documents within 2 working/business days after submission.
If the verification fails, you will receive a message with the reason. On the "Profile" tab, your verification status will change to "Needs Resubmission".
If this is the case, you can re-submit your ID using the same process as above.
